I like the Civil Wars cover of “Billie Jean” about ten time better than the original! It was nice to hear the Monday 8 O’clock News tonight – I wish it really were on every week.

Thanks for mentioning the Tri State Indie Music Awards, however I am sorry to say even though they are nominated for an award, New Sweden is not performing that night. TSI loves NS and will definitely be tuning in during setup for the awards that day!!

That Soul Rebels track was fun. Any chance David Dye brought them back from NOLA, for the July Festival? It was great to hear new music from Lucero, Toy Soldiers, and Carolina Chocolate Drops. Yellow Ostrich got something going on. Agree with you about the Heartless Bastards album. But as positive as you are on that one, I am about the new Chuck Prophet. It’s early in the year I know, but for me “Temple Beautiful” is already the album to beat.

We are in our last day in the Big Easy. Look for David’s interview with Preservation Hall Jazz Band and our Tuba symposium. Music just like xpn knows how to do it. What a great trip with great people!
