    Free at Noon: Birdie Busch

Today’s Live Friday performer, Birdie Busch, has built quite the fan base for herself in the Philly area–her blend of blues, folk, and rock have made her plenty of fans at the station as well as the city. She performed at the XPoNential fest this past July, and everyone was glad to have her grace an XPN stage again.

Singing of everything from luck to dangerous missions of the heart, Birdie’s recognizable, powerful alto is well-employed. On stage today, in cowboy boots and a dress, she was backed by an upright bass, three guitars (including a slide), and percussion. Her latest album, Everyone Will Take You In, came out this year, and Busch has garnered even more fans with its emotive power. Including the fans filling the World Cafe today.

And, be sure to catch Birdie Busch at Johnny Brenda’s at 9pm on Friday, September 17, too. But you can listen here if you missed today’s performance.
