582: Studio 54 opens
In April 26, 1977, just off Broadway, at 254 W. 54′th Street in Manhattan, New York, the most well-known Disco of all times opened up its doors for the very first time: Studio 54 or just “The Studio”. The club would soon become the “home” of the rich, the famous and the fashion pack. They did have a peculiar door policy, they wanted to get a perfect mix of people meaning celebrities were sometimes stopped at the door and didn’t get in. There was a “Man In the Moon With a Cocaine Spoon” as a backdrop to the dance floor, and it was well known for the sex and drugs and all night partying that went on there.
