Star and Micey

Star & Micey bring a fresh perspective on the Memphis music scene, where they’re currently thriving. The band was named #1 on Paste magazine’s list of 12 Tennessee Bands You Should Listen to Now; they were also our World Cafe: Next artist this week.

While in Memphis, World Cafe was lucky enough to record an interview and performance with the group at Ardent Studios. In addition to describing their music process, including sharing drumming responsibilities, and the band shares the memorable back story to their name.

For more Memphis music, be sure to check out the American Spotify on the Sense of Place Memphis website and this week’s World Cafe: Next feature on Star & Micey.
