Life Changes For Deer Tick’s John McCauley Lead To Negativity Their Most Personal Album Yet

December 12, 2013 - Deer Tick put out their fifth album Negativity this past fall. In the seven years the band has been together, this may be the most personal writing lead singer John McCauley has done yet.
Published in Guests

On their second full-length release the Providence, Rhode Island band Deer Tick offer a concoction of country, folk and rock. As a follow-up to their acclaimed 2007 debut War Elephant, the new album Born On Flag Day succeeds in capturing the band’s raw and youthful energy.

Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, Deer Tick have a new album on the way in October called Divine Providence, and they will be here to start out the Labor Day Weekend right, with a Free At Noon concert on September 2, 2011!

Deer Tick Complete with strings, drums, guitars, and bass, Deer Tick is a self-described rock-rock-rock outfit with a little something more--a twist of alt-country and gritty blues, as demonstrated on their 2010 studio album, The Black Dirt Sessions. With their serious music and humorous on-stage banter, these five young musicians have one goal: to rock across the continent.
