Singer-songwriter Matthew Houck will release its seventh studio album as Phosphorescent this Friday via Dead Oceans Records. Having already shared the joyous “New Birth In New England” and the contemplative “Christmas Down Under,” the band released its latest teaser of the album today. The quasi title track “C’est La Vie” is a trembling pulsar free of drums and guitars and anything except a resonating synthesizer (its tones sound not unlike Enya’s “Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)”) and Houck’s tender voice, which contemplates life and fate, and the idea that whatever will be will be.

Listen below. Phosphorescent plays the TLA in Philadelphia on Friday, December 14th. Tickets and more information on the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
