Fly Golden Eagle is fronted by Ben Trimble, originally from Detroit, who made his way to Nashville to attend college. When he got there he settled into a creative community of musicians anchored around producer and recording studio owner Andrija Tokic’s Bomb Shelter, the East Nashville epicenter of many things musically cool: Alabama Shakes, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Caitlin Rose, The Ettes, and many others have recorded their records here. Trimble recorded the Alabama Shakes debut and has toured, opening for the Shakes.

This week, J Mascis will be joining us at our Free at Noon concert at World Cafe Live on Friday. The former frontman of 90s indie legends Dinosaur (Jr.) has branched out on his solo work over the years. His alluring new album, Tied To A Star, was released earlier this year and has attracted much attention from critics and fans. His vocal timbre is undeniably reminiscent of Eddie Vedder, but his solo songs take lighter, poppier approach. In addition to this week's Free At Noon, Mascis will also appear with Purling Hiss at World Cafe Live on September 25th. Tickets and more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.
