Internships: Major Gifts & Membership

(5-15 hours per week)

Duties: Assist XPN's Director of Major Gifts with fundraising from individuals making contributions of $1000 or more. Duties include working with the membership database to properly code memberships, writing letters and working with an email newsletter sent to major donors. Includes some involvement with major donors through special events (World Cafe sessions), emailing and phone calling. General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, preparing mailings will also be assigned. Occasional research will be conducted on individuals, corporate and foundation prospects as well as assistance in compiling grant applications. This is a good position for someone interested in learning more about fundraising and working in a non-profit environment.

Qualifications: Candidate must have basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, email and web browsers). Basic data entry will be necessary. S/he must be reliable, comfortable dealing with the public, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Donor confidentiality is imperative. We are searching for a student who enjoys the music of WXPN and can relate to the station's donors.
