Morning Show News Intern - News Writer

3 days/wk, 6:30am-9:30am
*Must be a Penn Student to apply during school year.
***Open to any college student during summer.


Duties: Research and write news stories for XPN Morning Show. May be asked to attend city and/or suburban press conferences & record interviews. Position may include editing interviews into sound bites for newscasts depending on knowledge of digital audio editor.

Qualifications: Must be a Penn Student to apply for a position offered during the school year! For summer positions, open to any college student. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. S/he should be familiar with XPN/NPR style of news writing, and be able to re-write copy. An interest in the music industry is a plus. S/he must be enthusiastic and a quick learner, and be able to work with a minimum of supervision. S/he must have basic computer skills and knowledge of office procedures. The ability to record and edit tape, especially digital, is a plus!
