Internships: Web Team

(15-30 hours per week)

Are you interested in Radio? Music Journalism? Website Production? Would you like an internship that helps you build real world, transferable skills, and your CD collection? Then join the XPN Web Team this semester at XPN.org, 3025 Walnut Street, Philadelphia.

Hours: This opportunity offers 15-30 hours per week of hands-on experience at one of America's Top 25 music websites.

Duties: Assist Web Producer in writing, editing and updating content on xpn.org. Research artists performing on World Cafe, and write artist profiles for publishing on WorldCafe.NPR.org. Respond to listener email. Post photos from XPN events on Flickr.com/photos/wxpn. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: We need a reliable student who is familiar with the Internet, a good communicator, and knows how to prioritize and meet deadlines. Familiarity with a broad range of music and ability to communicate musical concepts is valuable. Familiarity with Dreamweaver, HTML and Fireworks or Photoshop is preferred, but NOT required. A background in journalism, interest in research and writing (website, student newspapers, self-published weblogs) is a definite plus. A love of music and pop culture is essential. Candidate should also have basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, email, web browsers).
