Volunteer & Student Coordinator
Do you have great motivational skills? Are you outgoing with strength in interpersonal communications? Are you a fan of XPN? XPN is in search of a full time Coordinator to manage the station’s Volunteer and Student program.
Duties:
Manage WXPN's comprehensive Volunteer and Student program in support of the station's various departments, with a heavy focus on station events and Fund Drives. Strengthen the relationship with the University of Pennsylvania student community to increase awareness of Work Study and Internship opportunities at WXPN. Create and implement Volunteer and Student recognition programs such as an annual volunteer party and awards ceremony and a Student Appreciation event. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordination of the recruitment, training and scheduling of all volunteers, Work Study students and interns, including those working with our Central PA office. Work with the Business Office to ensure that all Work Study hiring's are processed accurately and promptly. Keep volunteer prospects informed of all volunteer opportunities and WXPN relevant news through regular and systematic communications. Receive and process all volunteer requests and inquiries and oversee that they are responded to in a timely fashion. Maintain volunteer database.
Qualifications:
High School degree required, some college preferred. One to three years of demonstrated successful volunteer recruitment and supervisory experience required. The Volunteer and Student Coordinator must be outgoing with strong interpersonal communication skills. S/he must be well organized, detail-oriented, with strong leadership skills. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities. Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel & Internet Explorer) a must. Some weekend and evening work required. Previous volunteer experience at WXPN will be helpful. Knowledge of and interest in WXPN programming a plus.
