Listen Live
An XPN favorite since she appeared as an "Artist to Watch" in November of 2007, Ingrid Michaelson is currently touring to promote her newest studio album "Lights Out". The New York native's collaboration-filled set of tracks exhibits an "intellectual poppiness" personal to Ingrid and has already rivaled the success of her last release, "Human Again."
The Free at Noon featuring Ingrid Michaelson is Sold Out but you can still listen live to the live midday concert on Friday.

Friday night, Indie singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson's tour makes a stop at Philly's Electric Factory. But before that, she'll play WXPN's Free at Noon concert series earlier in the day. As she tours for her sixth album, Lights Out, she has received praise from outlets such as Allmusic and The Oakland Press for her ambitious and polished new record which features its share of blues, pop, and drawn out ballads. The New York based Michaelson rose to fame by having her music put in various TV shows such as One Tree Hill, Scrubs, and The Vampire Diaries, as well as commercials for Old Navy and the British car manufacturer Vauxhall. You can purchase tickets for her Electric Factory show, but don't miss your chance to see her for free at World Cafe Live this Friday as part of WXPN's Free at Noon concert series.

Presently, there is arguably no singer-songwriter that writes songs with as much visual perspective as Ingrid Michaelson. A success story born out of a new generation of fans on MySpace and strategic television placement, Ingrid's cinematic love tales have crossed the ears of millions, whether knowingly or unknowingly. And her second proper full-length album, titled Everybody, has the potential to set the proverbial scene yet again.

Artist To Watch November 2007, indie folk-rock starlet Ingrid Michaelson may be compared to artists Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor, but she has definitely staked out her own territory in the music industry.

Ingrid Michaelson Ingrid Michaelson may be compared to artists Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor, but she has marked her own territory in the music industry. The New York-based singer-songwriter fuses indie pop, folk and alternative in a seamlessly unique way, a quality that first attracted her audience via MySpace. Several years ago she became an internet sensation by self marketing her music through online media sources like myspace and facebook. Michaelson instantly became a model for other musicians, proving that artists could launch their success through perseverance and clever online marketing. After self-releasing her debut album Slow the Rain in 2005, her career switched from a smalltown stint to a full fledged pursuit. Her popularity really skyrocketed in 2006 with the release of her sophomore album "Girls and Boys," landing her tunes on popular television dramas Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill. After being picked up by Cabin 24 Records, Michaelson pushed her way up to no.6 on iTunes and no.37 on the Billboard Hot 100. Album after album, the down to earth starlett continues to climb the charts with her quirky indie pop hits.

After releasing her autobiographical album Everbody back in 2009, Ingrid is hard at work putting new material together. In addition to international touring, she has released a new single entitled "Parachute," which is now available for download.

Join us in welcoming the pop darling's return to World Cafe for another Free at Noon.
