Fool's Gold - Leave No Trace - IAMSOUND

Two years ago at the XPoNential Music Festival, the band Fool’s Gold took to the stage in front of a curious, unsuspecting audience. As their track record would indicate, the Los Angeles collective impressed with their signature blend of world-beat rhythms and indie pop that stirred up a party-like atmosphere. Between then and now Fool’s Gold has continued to write a similar script each night on the road, touring consistently and honing their unique sound. The band’s second album Leave No Trace is a progressive studio statement highlighting the expansive blueprint of their sound.

Since forming in 2007, the band has had a rotating cast of players. The consistent, however, over of the last few years has been the two co-founders; vocalist Luke Top and guitarist Lewis Pesacov. As a whole, the collective has settled into a five-piece band for Leave No Trace with a sound that flashes fantastic musicianship amongst an exploratory vibe. Pescavo’s well-fashioned guitar riffs are as much the calling card of the band as is Top’s unique stretched out vocal phrasings. Funky, sun-soaked afro-pop rhythms on songs like “Wild Window” and “The Dive” make Leave No Trace irresistible.

Another beautiful thing about Leave No Trace is how well these songs spring out of the speakers. For a band as captivating on-stage as Fool’s Gold, they translate that energy seamlessly in the studio. Credit their musicianship, their adventurous nature or their melting pot of influences but Leave No Trace captures the band energized and engaged.
