On Sunday evening, July 12th, six Latin alternative bands packed into balcony room at The Trocadero in Chinatown for Nuevofest 2015, as part of Latin Roots Live!

The series is inspired by the bi-weekly World Cafe radio series Latin Roots, in which World Cafe host David Dye explores a variety of music from Spanish-speaking countries and people, from cumbia, mambo and son to Latin rock, reggaeton. For this show, Latin Roots Live! presented the third annual Nuevofest on the heels of the Latin Alternative Music Festival in New York City.

Curated by Afrotaino Productions, the eveing featured music from Aparato!, Adhesivo, Zakke, Rodrigo Solo, Agudos Clef, Mexican Dubweiser, tropical dance beats of DJ Precolumbian, and very special guests Alejandro and Maria Laura, indie folk musicians from Lima. The evening presented a wide range of musical styles including folk, ska, hip-hop and rock based Latin music.
