WXPN Launches Multimedia Campaign to Determine 885 Most Memorable Musical Moments

Listeners encouraged to share, vote, and tune-in.

Philadelphia, PA – July 16, 2007 – WXPN, the nationally recognized leader in Triple A music and a noncommercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania, today announced the launch of a campaign titled The 885 Most Memorable Musical Moments, a multimedia polling event where listeners list and discuss their favorite music moments. The campaign runs from today through October 19th and features three distinct phases.

The "Share" phase encourages listeners to contribute to an online archive of memories told through personal essays, photos, audio and video recordings, and lists. It ends August 31st. The "Vote" phase, which runs from September 17 through September 30, lets listeners determine the ranking of the top 100 moments. The "Tune In" phase enables the audience to relive the 885 Most Memorable Musical Moments from October 2nd to October 19th through a combination of synchronized on-air playback and online elements.

"We started a new chapter of audience interaction back in 2004 when we asked listeners to vote on the 885 All-Time Greatest Songs," said Bruce Warren, WXPN program director. "Since then, we've done albums and artists countdowns, and now we're taking it to a new and uniquely personal level as we ask listeners to share their experiences."

The archive of listener moments and complete details about the event are available at XPoNentialMusic.org.
