It’s Brats Vs. Cheesesteaks As WXPN Takes on RadioMilwaukee When Phillies Battle The Brewers

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., WXPN, the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A (Album Adult Alternative) music and noncommercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania today announced a friendly wager between Jim McGuinn, XPN’s afternoon host and Y-Rock On XPN music director and 88Nine RadioMilwaukee’s afternoon host and music director Scott Mullins. RadioMilwaukee is an innovative rock/ urban hybrid that’s introducing non-commercial radio to Milwaukee’s 20-30 year-old demographic.

The bet will be announced on air today at 4:20pm EST. To kick things off, each station will play a tune from a Milwaukee artist and a tune from a Philly artist. It’s a meat vs. meat bet – Milwaukee Brats versus Philly cheesesteaks. The winner also gets to “takeover” the loser’s station for one full hour – in effect, they’ll play guest DJ on the other station for one hour.

“While there are many reasons to pull for the Brewers including city pride, team spirit and the fact that this is their first playoff appearance in 26 years, I'm really looking forward to a cheesesteak from Sonny's," said Scott. "C'mon, how can we lose? We have the racing sausages. The stakes are high. We cannot subject the city of Milwaukee to an hour of the Hooters"

“We’re betting an hour of our airwaves on the Phils,” responded Jim. “They’ve had such a great year so far we believe they can keep it going and take down the Brew Crew. Sausage races? Laverne and Shirley? No. We will bring it to RadioMilwaukee and can’t wait to inject a little Dr. Dog and Dead Milkmen into their playlist when we stomp the Brewers.”
