Voting Begins for the Best of Bruce Springsteen Countdown Presented by WXPN; Listeners to vote for the top 88 Bruce Springsteen songs in partnership with the National Constitution Center Exhibit


PHILADELPHIA Pa. – The Best of Bruce Springsteen Countdownwas born to run on WXPN, the nationally-recognized leader in Triple A (Adult Album Alternative) music and noncommercial radio service of the University of Pennsylvania. Starting today, listeners can visit xpn.org/music-artist/best-of-bruce and vote for the best Bruce Springsteen songs now through June 22. WXPN will play back the top 88 songs on the Fourth of July.
The Best of Bruce Springsteen Countdown is in coordination with the National Constitution Center exhibit, “From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life and Music of Bruce Springsteen,” which is running now through September 3. Visitors can also participate in the Countdown by casting their vote at a kiosk located outside of the exhibit in the National Constitution Center. All voters will be automatically entered to win an iPad2 loaded with all of Springsteen’s studio albums.

“What’s more American than listening to the best Bruce songs on Independence Day? It’s hard to beat,” said Bruce Warren, WXPN program director. “We know our listeners love Springsteen since ‘Thunder Road’ was voted the #1 Greatest Song of All Time in our 2004 885 Countdown.We hope our listeners go online to vote for their favorite Bruce Springsteen songs and check out the great exhibit going on now at the National Constitution Center.

To honor the release of Bruce Springsteen’s 17th studio album “Wrecking Ball” on Tuesday, March 6, WXPN will play the record in its entirety beginning at noon that day.
