Mindy Smith - One Moment More - Vanguard Records

One Moment More is the striking debut album from singer-songwriter Mindy Smith. It's an album filled with intelligent well-crafted songs characteristic of releases by artists like Norah Jones, Alison Krause, Gillian Welch, and Patty Griffin. Drawing on a variety of acoustic genres including country and folk the songs are honest, organic and from-the-heart - a winning combination for any artist to touch listeners regardless of the genre.

Smith grew up in Long Island, went to college in Cincinatti and then, moved to Knoxville where she began playing solo at open-mic nights. Like thousands of other musicians, she packed up her dreams and moved to Nashville where she began writing and performing, finally landing a publishing deal.

Even before the release of her album, Mindy received accolades for her rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," recorded for the Dolly Parton tribute album that came out last year called Just Because I'm A Woman.

One Moment More - with songs like "Come To Jesus," "Falling," "Fighting For It All," and "Jolene," (with Dolly on harmony vocals) is refreshing and contemplative. It heralds an exciting new voice on the musical landscape.
