David Wax Museum
David Wax Museum brought its lively blend of traditional Mexican music and Americana rock to a packed crowd in Non-COMM’s upstairs cafe last night. Drawing heavily from their 2012 offering Knock Knock Get Up, the seven-piece group played a variety of instruments including horns, accordion and a percussive jawbone. Since forming in 2009 this band, which at its core is the duo of David Wax and Suz Slezak, has maintained a fierce independent personality and relied on a grassroots approach to spreading their music. They’ve blossomed thanks to their passionate live shows and now their latest album, Knock Knock Get Up, is matching that excitement.

David Wax Museum The David Wax Museum fuses traditional Mexican and American folk music into what the band refers to as “Mexo-Americana,” a style that is lively and unique.
