Rare Unplugged Pixies. How Do They Fare Without Kim Deal?
Live Friday, we are excited to have alternative rock trailblazers Pixies for a SOLD OUT Free At Noon performance.

The reunited band is back with a series of new EPs, featuring the songs "Bagboy" and "Blue Eyed Hexe." Formed in Boston in 1986, Pixies released four influential albums in the late 80s and early 90s, including 1988's raw and aggressive Surfer Rosa and the following year's commercial breakthrough Doolittle, which spawned the hits "Monkey Gone to Heaven," "Here Comes Your Man," "Debaser" and "Wave of Mutilation." The band is often credited with popularizing the quiet-loud-quiet template that became widespread in the alt-rock 90s, and Nirvana's Kurt Cobain was an aknowledged fan of their songs and sound. The group parted ways in 1993, but reunited for a brief tour in 2004, then again in 2009 to celebrate the anniversary of Doolittle, and now with the first new music it has released a decade. This Friday, Pixies headline a show at the Electric Factory, and joins us for a live Friday concert in the afternoon with founding members Black Francis on vocals and guitar, Joey Santiago on guitar, David Lovering on drums and new bassist Paz Lenchantin.
