Sense of Place: Louisville is not just The Derby and The Bourbon – A History of Great Music

Our Sense of Place Day Trip to Louisville, Kentucky in association with our affiliate WFPK, is filled with a huge variety of music old and new. All the things you need for a thriving music scene have been there for decades. There are clubs big and small that support local bands . Until recently there was a world-class record store, Ear X-Tacy with an expert staff with a depth of knowledge. And of course a radio station supporting the scene from national acts like Louisville booster Jim James and My Morning Jacket to the new bands you will hear today. Some surprising music out of Kentucky.
