Originally intended to be "Dawn of the Buffalo", folk-rock jam band Donna the Buffalo inherited their name from an inebriated MC who slurred the introduction to their first live performance. The name stuck, and two decades later the group has gathered an intensely loyal following around them, appropriately called The Herd. The band plays a mix of covers and originals, and their music is known for often being political in nature, while their sound travels across several genres including zydeco, reggae, and bluegrass.
