Performing a genre self-described as "Cambridge no-wave hardhonk" with tongue perhaps only partially in cheek, Sarah Borges is no stranger to genre-bending in her dramatically inclusive songwriting. From rockabilly to punk, Americana to pop, she and her band, The Broken Singles, effortlessly flip through chapters of the American songbook. Already garnering critical acclaim and surrounded by a loyal fan base, the group nevertheless continues to challenge both themselves and their audiences musically. Borges' latest release, The Stars Are Out, offers more straightforward rock than the work found on previous albums and was released in March 2009 on Sugar Hill Records.
