Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby

Considering he pioneered the British alternative music scene alongside labelmates Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe on the ground-breaking British label Stiff Records, and she's the cynically witty rocker whose 1996 solo debut earned her critical acclaim including Spin's "Songwriter of the Year" honor, husband and wife Eric Goulden (aka Wreckless Eric) and Amy Rigby certainly seem made for each other, musically-speaking. Calling to mind artists like the Velvet Underground and Yo La Tengo, the duo create simply enchanting lo-fi ballads that straddle the line between disaffected detachment and unabashed sweetness. The couple's debut release was released in the summer of 2008.
