Shemekia Copeland burst onto the blues and soul scene at the young age of 19 back in 1988, and she has been a favorite of music lovers since. With her 2009 release of Never Going Back, Copeland joined Telarc international, taking her career to new heights. Of her future in blues
music, the artist says she "wants to be innovative with the blues," and this innovation shows through on her album and in her performances. She's truly a force to be reckoned with, having opened for the Rolling Stones, performed with such greats as B.B. King and Buddy Guy, and featured in numerous blues festivals around the world.
Shemekia's playing the Abbey Bar in Harrisburg on May 21.
