This Brooklyn and Philadelphia-based indie rock band met in early 2004 while attending Connecticut College. Shortly after, they self-released their debut album Clap Your Hands Say Yeah in 2005, gaining momentum through MP3 blogs. Pitchfork Media gave the group the "Best New Music" commendation. Rolling Stone also named them a "Hot New Band" in 2005, and they were an XPN Artist To Watch in February, 2006. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah continued to achieve success and fame, capturing audiences with their eclectic sound and signing with Wichita Recordings in the UK. Through Wichita, they released their sophomore album Some Loud Thunder in 2007. While the group went on hiatus in 2009 to pursue side projects, in May 2011 they announced the release of their third album Hysterical in September 2011 as well as a vinyl re-release of their debut album on June 14, 2011. They also announced a series of live performances - their first in over four years - to accompany these releases, both in the US and Europe. Their performances are not to be missed by any indie rock fan.
