Delta Spirit

Hailing from San Diego, Delta Spirit bring together sounds from rock and northern soul, using such unconventional instruments as trash can lids and orchestral bass drums, and lyrics that are sometimes reminiscent of spiritually themed ballads. They got their name from member Jon's great Uncle Red who ran a company, "Delta Spirit Taxidermy Station of North Central Alabama," and their music pulls occasionally from the southern themes that their name so proudly denotes. They recently released their third full-length album, Delta Spirit, to rave reviews.
