JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound

A highlight of Friday night at this year's Festival was an electrifying performance by funky Chicago ensemble, JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound.

JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound's bio explains that JC Brooks "is determined to become the next in the long line of classic Chicago Soul singers." His energetic and soulful performances suggest that he knows what it takes, to do so. Brooks is backed by the self-described "ferocious" Uptown Sound, who stage "all-out assaults" on their audiences. We're letting them speak for themselves because we're still speechless from the raucous XPN Free At Noon they played back in December. If you saw them then and wanted more, we're right there with you.
