WXPN - Artist To Watch
Artist To Watch
WXPN highlights new artists through ongoing programming that includes the “Artist To Watch” feature which, since 2003, has spotlighted up-and-coming performers with a combination of on-air promotion and online features to help audiences deepen their discovery of each artist. See current and past Artist To Watch spotlights below.
Black Opry Residency
In a new chapter of its commitment to emerging talent, WXPN is proud to partner with the Black Opry collective to provide five Black Americana artists the opportunity to hone their artistic and professional pursuits during a unique artist development program with a week-long creative residency in Philadelphia at its core.
Selected artists will co-create project activities, receive one-on-one and group mentoring, and showcase their work through a capstone project performance. An audio documentary of the project will advance the story of these artists to a wider audience.
Black Opry Residency has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage
