It’s moving day for Armani White. The Philly rapper’s breakout year has leveled up with news of his signing to Def Jam Records, and his debut single for the label is about next steps and moving forward — right down to the moving van the music video is centered around.

“Made it out the hood, now I’m just visiting my mama,” White raps, and in the video we see him riding in a convertible with his mom in the passenger seat, rapping along to lyrics about leveraging success to build a better life for you and your loved ones (“Make a couple mil, get her a crib in the Bahamas”).

It’s a fun and funny way to present the song, especially the juxtaposition of visuals and lyrics where the move stays local (“new crib, same block”) and opens up space for a classic West Philly block party. For White, he’s been on the grind long enough to know about the trappings and uncertainties of fame, and while the lyrics elsewhere in the song find him keeping his guard up, right now he’s here to celebrate.
