Job Description Summary
WXPN, a public media service of the University of Pennsylvania, is seeking an organized, creative, and collaborative professional to join the team as part-time Grants Manager. A critical member of the Development department, the Grants Manager works closely with the station’s leadership to identify, solicit, and steward funds from grantmaking organizations—foundations, family foundations, and government funding sources–in support of WXPN’s nonprofit public service.
Please note that this is a 20 hour per week part-time role.
Job Responsibilities
- Draft and edit narrative and supporting content for all LOIs and proposals
- Identify, research, and qualify potential new grantors
- Move proposals through the appropriate internal and external processes
- Provide pre- and post- award support to Finance, Programming, and the executive leadership of the station to ensure that all requirements are being properly met and issues resolved quickly and appropriately
- Serve as a liaison for grants across station departments as well as throughout UPenn
- Prepare and submit all post-grant reports
- Manage all grant-related deadlines and maintain robust internal communication
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Deep understanding of the grants process and its function within Development
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to concurrently work on deeply focused creative projects as well as manage finely detailed forms and processes within firm deadlines
