Madra Salach perform for Sense of Place: Dublin

Today on World Cafe, a session from “one of the most powerful performances I’ve ever witnessed as the host of this show,” says @rahrahraina.

The Dublin band Madra Salach @madrasalach_ performs a set somewhere between Irish past and future. Watch for three songs from their 2026 EP ‘It’s A Hell of an Age,’ and an unreleased cover of working-class folk song, “Tunnel Tigers.”

This session was recorded and filmed in front of a live audience at Dublin’s historic Windmill Lane Studios. More at worldcafe.org.

And stay tuned for more Sense of Place: Dublin…
On our signature Sense of Place series, we take listeners around the world to dive deep into distinct music cultures. This August, we’re in the Republic of Ireland, a country with a rich artistic past and present. Think, the birthplace of Oscar Wilde, the home of James Joyce, Thin Lizzy, Sinead O’Connor… there’s a long history of storytelling in The Fair City. Join us over the next couple of weeks as we capture Dublin’s musical present, and the legends by which it’s informed.
