Woah, man… Philadelphia psychedelic outfit Bardo Pond’s 1999 stunner, Set and Setting, is getting fully remastered and repressed on purple vinyl for the album’s 25th anniversary. A veritable classic of Philly’s DIY history, this 50-minute workout from the beloved stoner rock group is slow, spacious, progressive, and real, real bluesy; the perfect kind of thing to hear on wax while you’re imbibing certain substances that you legally purchased in New Jersey. It comes alongside Melt Away, a 2xLP compilation of outtakes and rarities from Bardo Pond’s late-90s heyday.
