We made the announcement last week that Japanese Breakfast was back with a new album and tour in 2025. She’s also playing two nights at The Met here in Philly on May 15th and 16th (check the XPN Concert Calendar for details). To round out the trifecta of jbrekkie news, a new music video for lead single “Orlando in Love” is out now.
Who has medieval core or baroque pop on their trend predictions list for 2025? Japanese Breakfast hits both in the video Michelle Zauner directed herself for the project. As per usual, Mannequin Pussy’s Marisa Dabice makes an appearance, this time as a cloaked onlooker watching Orlando fall for the idealized delusion of a woman who calls to him, only to be drowned by her in the sea.
