Florence Road/Pillow Queens joins host Stephen Kallao/Talia Schlanger
The four-piece Irish rock band Florence Road gained international attention last year when their song “Heavy” went viral online. The childhood friends now have a new EP called Spring Forward and make their World Cafe debut with a mini concert as part of the Sense of Place: Dublin series. Plus, Pillow Queens, in a session recorded in 2019, during World Cafe’s last visit to Dublin. Pillow Queen’s song “Gay Girls” had been nominated for Ireland’s Choice Music Prize, and you will be charmed by their poppy punk songs, as they talk about fully embracing their Irish accents when singing, on the World Cafe.
